The FOG RALLY is an iconic destination road rally encompassing social events and fundraising activities. It is produced by the Ferrari Owners Charitable Foundation (FOCF), a 501 (c) (3) public benefit corporation. Each year one or more non-profit organizations are selected to be beneficiaries.\u00a0 Registration and Sponsor fees are tax deductible adjusted for tangible value received; consult your tax professional.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Who is eligible to register for the FOG RALLY?” tab_id=”1554142730711-b080857d-6877″]
Any person possessing a legal driver\u2019s license and owning or leasing any Ferrari vehicle properly registered and insured in any state or country may participate in the Rally. Family members and friends of the primary driver may participate as \u2018co-drivers\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What cars are allowed on the FOG RALLY?” tab_id=”1554142730773-0aacce26-cf8a”]
Only Ferraris are allowed on the FOG RALLY.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Is the FOG RALLY a race or competitive event?” tab_id=”1554142730828-96167864-c525″]
The FOG RALLY is NOT a race or competitive event<\/strong>, and neither time nor speeds are factors. The FOG RALLY is designed so that all participants have the time to enjoy the drive and scenery, show off the wonderful cars, and most of all, arrive at the destinations safely and relaxed.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Are there any driving rules?” tab_id=”1644140521750-178ac773-e216″] Drivers on the FOG RALLY are expected to follow all applicable laws, without exception<\/strong>. In addition, Drivers are expected to practice proper road-etiquette and recognize their responsibilities as representatives of FOCF, our Sponsors, and our Charity Partners while participating in all FOG RALLY events.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Do I have to sign any waivers?” tab_id=”1644904889845-fcd92c45-1834″] Every Driver and every participant (i.e., co-driver, guest) must sign the FOG RALLY Waiver in order to participate in the Rally; we prefer to use the DocuSign application.\u00a0There are no exceptions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What if I\u2019m coming from out-of-state or from outside of the Bay Area?” tab_id=”1644905070387-1727fa26-07fa”] We welcome Drivers from outside of the Bay Area and can make referrals for shipping, storage and service. All arrangements and associated costs are the responsibility of the Driver.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”When is the route available?” tab_id=”1644904987828-068ef18d-1421″] Each year the Rally Committee develops a carefully crafted route to ensure the maximum enjoyment of all participants. The destination of the Rally will be announced prior to registration, but the details of the route are not shared in advance. The Rally route is one-way, from the departure point in the Bay Area to the destination. At the Rally Launch Breakfast, Drivers will receive a printed Driver\u2019s Handbook with maps and detailed driving instructions as well as access to the route on a mobile application. It is the Driver\u2019s responsibility to plan their route back to his\/her home from the Rally destination.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Will there be a support vehicle?” tab_id=”1644905028656-46a6faad-8aef”] There will be a support vehicle on the Friday drive to the Rally destination and the Saturday drive at the destination. \u00a0No major repairs will be done to cars during the Rally.\u00a0 In the case where the car is inoperable, it is the Driver\u2019s responsibility to arrange for the repair and\/or shipment of their car to the destination of their choice.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What if there is bad weather?” tab_id=”1644148080739-eef3a21b-6410″] The FOG RALLY is not weather dependent.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][\/vc_tta_accordion]<\/div><\/div><\/section> Registration opens on April 1. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Once we reach 30 registrations, interested Drivers will be placed on a waiting list.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is the registration fee?” tab_id=”1615295439887-3299b0e0-90c4″] *Hotel accommodations and costs are not included and are the responsibility of FOG RALLY registered Drivers Reservations must be made directly with the hotel. Hotel information will be provided upon completion of registration. Rooms for additional passengers\/guests or co-drivers are not included in our hotel block and reservations must be made separately with the hotel.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Is there a waitlist?” tab_id=”1677386541275-823411f3-27ba”] Yes, follow the link to register.\u00a0 If registration is full you will be directed to the waitlist. As registration spaces become available, they will be allocated based on your place on the waitlist as determined by that time and day.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Is the registration fee tax-deductible?” tab_id=”1644142581720-40a7b0a3-1432″] FOCF is a 501 (c) (3) public benefit corporation. As a result, the Rally registration fee is tax-deductible adjusted for tangible value received; consult your tax professional.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is included in the registration fee?” tab_id=”1644141881882-d657597d-b598″] The Rally registration fee for Driver and Co-Driver (two persons in one car and one room allocated from our hotel block*) and Driver-Only (one person in one car and one room allocated from our hotel block)* includes:<\/p>\n The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe is our destination property this year. Featuring mountain concierge services, slope-side spa, world-class dining and impeccable service The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe is the region\u2019s premier mountain retreat.<\/p>\n We have negotiated special pricing for a block of rooms for Rally participants for Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21. There is also an option to stay over on Sunday, September 22 at the Rally rate on a limited first-come first-served basis. We have also negotiated special pricing for the use of the spa!<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How do I make my hotel reservation?” tab_id=”1644145340396-493a929c-0325″] Upon completion of your registration, you will receive information on how to make your hotel reservations and receive the special pricing.\u00a0 Please do not call the hotel prior to receiving this information.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Can I book additional rooms, room upgrade and additional nights in the specially-priced Rally room block?” tab_id=”1554143528567-931b3af7-bcc5″] No. Only one room is allocated in our discounted room block for each Rally registration.\u00a0 However, you can book additional rooms, room upgrades, and additional nights directly with the hotel outside of our discounted room block.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How does my luggage get to the destination?” tab_id=”1554143528490-78d5bfe7-0f7c”] All participants must carry their luggage with them or make other arrangements.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][\/vc_tta_accordion]<\/div><\/div><\/section> May \u2013 August:\u00a0 Special Events (i.e., stickering parties in Marin, San Francisco, Peninsula\/South Bay, invitation-only parties) –.Specific dates and locations to be forthcoming.<\/p>\n Thursday, September 19: Gala & Fundraiser — See more details in d) Events<\/strong> below.<\/p>\n Friday, September 20: Launch Breakfast, Friday Rally Lunch, Cocktail Reception & Dinner — \u00a0We start the day with a breakfast and Driver\u2019s Meeting.\u00a0 We then proceed on a carefully curated route on selected \u2018Ferrari-friendly\u2019 roads through iconic scenery to our destination at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. After getting settled in our rooms we will enjoy cocktails with a full bar and fine wines on the terrace with the natural beauty in the background. We will then move inside for a three-course dinner with fine wines and a short program.<\/p>\n Saturday, September 21: Special Events, Cocktails, Dinner and Party\/ Celebration at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe \u00a0(i.e., morning drive, Ferrari test drives, social activity and more) — This is a day for Drivers and Co-Drivers to choose among a variety of planned activities and services available onsite. All of these activities are optional however some will require pre-registration. In the evening, we will come together again for cocktails with a full bar and fine wines on the terrace and then enjoy a themed dinner followed by special activities.\u00a0 More information will be forthcoming.<\/p>\n Sunday September 22: Farewell Breakfast and Special Events (i.e., Ferrari Test Drives) at The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe \u00a0— We culminate our weekend with a buffet breakfast which will allow Drivers and Co-Drivers to leisurely connect before heading home.\u00a0 And there will also be an opportunity for final Ferrari Test Drives and conversations with the Ferrari Silicon Valley team.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][\/vc_tta_accordion]<\/div><\/div><\/section> The Gala & Fundraiser is the kick-off event of the Rally. It is an exciting night dedicated to raising funds and awareness for our beneficiaries, \u00a0acknowledging those who have made the Rally possible, and renewing old friendships as well as starting new ones. The event includes: opportunity to view splendid Rally Ferraris staged in their Sponsor livery while enjoying a wine and cocktail reception; step-back photographs; a sumptuous 3-course dinner; recognition of our Sponsors; an inspiring program with guest speakers; and engaging fund-raising activities.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Who can attend the Gala & Fundraiser?” tab_id=”1677388173225-0aff87bb-d7e4″] The Gala & Fundraiser is open to the FOCF Community as well as members of the public. Rally Drivers and Sponsors may also invite guests. All guests must have a ticket.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How much are Gala & Fundraiser tickets and how do I purchase them? Are they refundable?” tab_id=”1677388173329-e07eff4f-57f3″] For Rally Drivers and Sponsors, Gala & Fundraiser, tickets are included in their fees.<\/strong> All other guests must purchase tickets when they become available. Tickets are non-refundable. However, upon written request prior to the event, the cost of unused tickets purchased may be converted to a tax-deductible donation to FOCF.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Is there a discount price available for Gala & Fundraiser tickets or for a table at the event?” tab_id=”1677388173435-e718dc28-d545″] No special pricing is available.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Is there a dress code for Rally events?” tab_id=”1677388173707-0be5c721-eaa0″] There is no dress code however we do provide information about \u2018recommended attire\u2019 once we have confirmed all of the activities and events. Typically, formal wear is recommended for the Gala & Fundraiser. For Day One (Friday) morning and drive, participants are encouraged to wear their Rally logo \u2018gear\u2019. For Day One and Day Two (Friday and Saturday) dinners recommended dress is determined by whether it is an indoor or outdoor location. If indoors or in a structured outdoor setting such as a hotel patio, typically cocktail attire or smart casual is appropriate; and if outdoors in a more natural setting, comfortable layers and appropriate footwear are recommended.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Is alcohol included with Rally meals?” tab_id=”1677388173815-40c5d0de-6f48″] Either a limited or full bar is provided at the Gala & Fundraiser, Day One (Friday) and Day Two (Saturday) dinners. We do not host alcoholic beverages at any breakfast or lunch. Alcoholic beverages may be available for purchase from the venues at these events. Please note: <\/strong>Rally participants are not allowed to serve alcoholic beverages from personal bottles in any public space at any FOG RALLY event. It is a contractual violation of FOCF\u2019s agreement with the venue, as well as a violation of State Alcoholic Beverage Control licensing laws, for anyone other than the venue\u2019s staff to serve alcohol to guests.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][\/vc_tta_accordion]<\/div><\/div><\/section> Yes. Each car participating in the FOG RALLY must have all Sponsor stickers attached; there are no exceptions and no other stickers are allowed. Sticker placement must follow the template provided. Cars not in compliance with the sticker guidelines may be disqualified from participating in the Rally and registration fees will not be refunded<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”When and where do I sticker my car?” tab_id=”1644150199395-448e9d2a-8de1″] Stickering events take place mid to late August. We will have a minimum of three host venue sticker application locations: South Bay, San Francisco, and North Bay. Drivers will be asked to submit a first and second choice of location, date, and time slot (e.g., morning \/ afternoon) and all efforts are made to confirm each Driver\u2019s first choice.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Who is responsible for stickering my car?” tab_id=”1644150199510-89dc11a2-8870″] Drivers are expected to sticker their own cars using the sticker kit and template provided. Depending on the number of Sponsor stickers to be applied, the Ferrari model and the Driver\u2019s experience, the stickering process may take up to two hours, or more. Our host venues often generously provide staff to assist and other Drivers may be willing to help, but they are not responsible for stickering your car and assume no liability.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”How will I get the stickers for my car?” tab_id=”1644150199626-787b3137-f282″] Drivers will receive their stickers in a kit with instructions and template at their stickering event. Sticker kits will be shipped to Drivers not able to attend a sticker event.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What is the stickering event like?” tab_id=”1644150199748-9ac36fff-e691″] The stickering event is an enjoyable and collaborative kick-off to the Rally, with many hands available to complete stickering on all the cars in the session. It is one of the first opportunities for Rally drivers to meet each other; renew old friendships and begin to make new ones. Typically, host venues provide refreshments and there will always be a FOCF Board Member or representative on hand to greet Drivers, answer questions and be of assistance.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What if I can\u2019t attend a stickering event?” tab_id=”1644150199859-b1d56fff-5ae5″] In this case, there are two options: 1) Drivers can sticker their own car; or 2) Drivers may make an independent arrangement to have one of the designated host venues sticker his\/her car. In either case, Drivers are responsible for ensuring the proper sticker placement following the provided template.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”What do I need to do in preparation for stickering my car?” tab_id=”1644150199979-a1d73ac9-4a68″] Cars must be recently washed.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”When and how do I remove the stickers from my car?” tab_id=”1644150951636-70647eeb-c5a9″] Drivers can remove the stickers from their cars on the last day of the Rally or anytime thereafter. We encourage Drivers to not leave stickers on their car for an extended period of time. Instructions for removing stickers will be provided in the sticker kit and\/or in a separate mailing after the Rally.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][\/vc_tta_accordion]<\/div><\/div><\/section> Registration fees are non-refundable. However, Drivers who cancel before August 31 are eligible to have their registration fee converted to a tax-deductible donation to FOCF, adjusted for tangible value received, upon receipt of a written request on or before August 31, 2024. Drivers are responsible for cancelling their own hotel reservations and any associated fees.<\/p>\n<\/div>[\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Is insurance available to cover my registration fee in the event I am not able attend the Rally?” tab_id=”1644150980249-36d65512-25e1″] Insurance coverage is not provided. However, Allianz Travel Insurance Company does offer trip cancellation and trip interruption insurance on an individual basis.
